  3. Content can be navigated with just a keyboard or speech recognition tools

Testing for accessibility has taken place using various devices and frequently used software. The four methods for testing were:
  • Microsoft Edge – with a mouse: people with differing disabilities may still be mouse users, including zoom/magnification and adapted mouse devices and functions
  • Microsoft Edge – with JAWS screen reader software and keyboard functionality: more specifically used by people with severe sight loss (including blind people) and some people with dyslexia
  • Google Chrome – with Read Aloud: primarily used by people with dyslexia or some degree of visual impairment who may need to rest their eyes and let their ears take over
  • Smart Phone – apple iPhone with VoiceOver: a frequently-used accessibility tool for people with a variety of visual impairments and people with dyslexia

The following sections of the website are not fully accessible, and we are working on them to make improvements:

  • some content is not easily accessible with Smart Phone – Apple VoiceOver
  • the drop-down menus within the header ribbon and final slide containing forms need to be more easily navigable with keyboard keystrokes
